Hello there,
Hope you are doing well!
After dreaming about drawing with acrylics again for the longest time, I recently bought a set of new paints. I have been sketching with them since at my home studio (see picture above).
My home studio consists of mainly a room full of a bed, some cupboards and a desk. Sometimes I take my studio to the living room dining table. Sometimes it migrates to the sofa and coffee table. This is not ideal, but this is what is available to me at the moment and making the best of what I have doesn’t hurt.
The paint tubes are somewhat big in size, so I havent taken them to a location to draw. But I have drawn some of the views I see on walks near my home from photo references.
I used to sketch with acrylics a lot in college time. I thought I will share some of them here with you. This is my neighbourhood.
I really enjoy some sort of unfinished-ness in drawings! It’s as if the images when completed in the mind of the viewer, when you fill in the blanks, becomes more alive by the way of participation. They have a kind of energy.
Work Update
I am currently working on a picture book with a story I am really excited about. I can not share more at this moment, other than that its about a little boy who has trouble with reading and writing. He has all my heart.
Here’s a glimpse of a sketch for one of the spreads:
In other news, I have a new print available in my shop. You can shop for it here: https://shop.reshusingh.com/products/refuge
Refuge is about, well, taking refuge in nature. I like drawing people finding peace in their surroundings. Sheltering is another piece which is also about leaning on nature.
Untill next time!
Take care,
Reshu
